YEAR2024 PROJECT TYPEVisual Identity, Print THANK GOD WE BE FREE is a 30-card inspiration deck that visually bridges historical abolitionist movements with contemporary movements against the prison industrial complex and surveillance state. Using print as a tactile medium, the project combines symbolism, typography, and pattern to communicate complex ideas in an accessible and engaging way.
THE BRIEF: Create a cohesive and compelling visual identity for the card deck that honors the legacy of Underground Railroad quilt codes while integrating modern digital resistance symbols.
The design needed to balance historical authenticity with contemporary aesthetics and ensure clarity and hierarchy in presenting dense educational content.

Outcome:
Produced a print-ready card deck that functions as both an educational tool and a design object. This project sharpened my skills in visual identity development, typographic problem-solving, and print design, key strengths I bring to editorial, branding, and tactile media projects.
