Spatial Histories: Queer Manhattan

Mache Tét Anlé

YEAR:2024

PROJECT TYPE:Data Visualization
Mapping + Infographics

DESCRIPTION

This printed map visualizes historical and contemporary lesbian and queer spaces in Manhattan, drawing on The Addresses Project, which explores queer space and memory from the early 1900s to today.

I translated spatial data into a clear, expressive visual language using shape, color, and scale, creating a editorial layout that communicates complex cultural narratives.

The final map balances  research with refined design, offering an engaging and visually compelling representation of queer history in New York City.
