BASE & BSU -
Black Cultural Celebration Dinner

YEAR:
2025
PROJECT TYPE:Promotional Campaign, Social Media, Print

Collaborated with USF’s Black Achievement Success and Engagement team and the Black Student Union to design a vibrant promotional campaign for their Black Cultural Celebration Dinner. The project combined print and digital assets to engage the campus community and honor the diaspora through thoughtful use of color and pattern.

THE BRIEF:

Create cohesive, eye-catching materials for event promotion that celebrate the Black diaspora, incorporating Pan-African colors and culturally significant patterns. Deliverables needed to work across print posters, social media, and digital screen promos displayed around campus.
MY ROLE:

Led design development from concept to final production, consulting closely with BASE and BSU to ensure cultural authenticity. Managed multiple asset formats optimized for print and digital use.

PROCESS HIGHLIGHTS:

Referenced Pan-African symbolism and cultural motifs to inform pattern and color choices.
Created bold, rhythmic designs that balanced visual vibrancy with readability.

Iterated on layouts to work well across different platforms and display contexts.

DELIVERABLES:

  1. Event poster
  2. Social media graphics
  3. Digital screen promo

OUTCOME:

The campaign successfully raised awareness and attendance for the cultural dinner, fostering a sense of pride and community. This project reinforced my commitment to culturally responsive design and adaptability across print and digital formats.
