Jayla, is a multicultural, San Francisco–based designer and visual artist with a passion for editorial design, print materials, typography, and visual arts. Holding a BFA from the University of San Francisco she works across many mediums, and is especially drawn to tactile processes along with the satisfaction of bringing digital ideas into physical form. Jayla brings a wide-ranging skill set that includes, but is not limited to, branding, editorial design, motion graphics, information visualization, and JavaScript, with an ongoing commitment to learning and expanding her practice.

She loves the process of ideas manifesting and curating visual content that effectively communicates something meaningful. Passionate about visual storytelling as a tool for advocacy, much of her work explores topics in social justice and visual information, aiming to make complex issues more digestible, engaging, and emotionally resonant. Jayla believes art has always been a catalyst for change and through design, strives to amplify messages of empowerment, collective care, and social change.

Her creative practice is rooted in a deep appreciation for community, both as an inspiration and a responsibility. She is always conscious of who she’s designing for, what she’s representing, and how her choices impact those around her. Jayla strives to be respectful and intentional in all aspects of her work. She’s continually excited to expand her craft and apply her skills to new disciplines and techniques while staying grounded in that purpose.
